The Ayot Literary Festival

The first Ayot Literary Festival was held over three days in June 2011 in the marquee on Ayot Green, establishing itself as the pre-eminent literary event in Hertfordshire.
The programme comprised an eclectic range of internationally best selling authors, including Alexander McCall Smith, Will Hutton, Prue Leith and Darren Shan. The idyllic village green location and a highly convenient position with easy access to London and the motorway network helped the event to attract thousands of festival goers from all over the country.
Festival organisers Barry and Gill Kemp, Nic and Geraldine Savage and Festival Director Fiona McIntosh were all delighted with the way everything went. It was a great weekend, with events for all tastes, ranging from pure light-hearted fun to the more serious and challenging, and festival goers relaxing in the sunshine with a glass of wine in between.

Sadly the Ayot Literary Festival will not be going ahead this year.
We have had difficulties finding a suitable venue with parking, which lost us momentum, as a result we have not been able to make it viable. All the organisers are agreed that it must be a high quality event if it is to proceed; there is little to be gained from a half hearted approach.
The project is not over though, and we will try again in 2013 with renewed vigour.
Thank you for your support.
